Update from Amgen: Complete New CMS Attestation Requirement to Avoid Patient Support Services Disruption

al5
What’s Changing?
Effective in 2026 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) now require all Health Care Providers to annually attest—via their Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) portal—that they have authorized each Clearinghouse to conduct eligibility checks and benefit investigations on their behalf.  You may read more on this at https://www.cms.gov/data-research/cms-information-technology/hipaa-eligibility-transaction-system-hets/hets-electronic-data-interchange-edi-enrollment

Why This Matters to You
Amgen uses vendors who utilize Clearinghouses to perform eligibility checks and benefit investigations as part of our patient support services. These checks are essential to support timely patient access to therapy.

If you do not complete this attestation:
  • Eligibility checks or benefit investigations may be blocked, disrupting patient support provided on your behalf by Amgen.
  • Your patients may experience delays in accessing their prescribed therapies and patient support services.
What You Need to Do
