Earth Day: How Your Practice Can Go Green!
Earth Day is a global holiday that is celebrated annually on April 22nd. It was first established in 1970 to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our environment and promoting sustainability. Today, Earth Day continues to be an important day for individuals and organizations around the world to reflect on the impact they have on the planet and to take action to reduce their carbon footprint.
Rheumatology Practice Managers have an important role to play in reducing their office’s environmental impact. Here are some tips for going green at the office:
- Reduce paper usage: One of the easiest ways to reduce your office’s environmental impact is to reduce the amount of paper you use. Encourage your staff to switch to digital documents and use cloud storage systems to reduce the need for printing, but remember to be HIPAA compliant!
- Switch to a Water Cooler to help eliminate plastic entering our water supply!
- Encourage sustainable transportation: Encourage your staff to use sustainable transportation options, such as biking, walking, or public transportation, instead of driving to work. You could even consider providing incentives for staff who use sustainable transportation.
- Recycle: Set up a recycling program in your office to ensure that waste materials are properly disposed of. Make sure to provide recycling bins for paper, plastic, and other recyclable materials.
By implementing these simple tips, Rheumatology Practice Managers can make a significant impact in reducing their office’s environmental impact. Celebrate Earth Day this year by taking action to reduce your carbon footprint and protect our planet for future generations!
You will notice at this year’s conference in September, that NORM has gone green in many ways!
- Instead of plastic water bottles, NORM will provide our attendees with a reusable water bottle, that can be refilled at water stations around the Marriott Marquis.
- Saving Paper! NORM is going Virtual with our Conference Magazine this year.
- NORM will help limit the carbon emission footprint by offering a shuttle to and from the SFO airport for our attendees.
