5 Realistic Resolutions to Propel Your Health in 2023

A new year is upon us and the usual resolutions are beginning to follow us around: go to the gym, eat healthier, drink less caffeine, sleep more. The problem is that resolutions only hold our interest until mid-February before the excitement of the new year ends. And before we know it, we are back to our normal lifestyle.

Instead, what if you try something different this year? Perhaps setting attainable resolutions is the trick. The office is one of the best places to kick-start your New Year’s resolutions. After all, chances are you spend more time there than at home.

In this post, we’ll share five goals you can easily accomplish while on the job that will boost your health in 2023.

5 Realistic Resolutions to Propel Your Health in 2023

We know that staying on track of your resolutions can be a challenge when you work in a busy medical office. So here are five realistic resolutions that you can easily incorporate into your daily life and make your upcoming working year even better.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW.

Make learning a priority for the entire team. Regularly learning new things about your job and improving your skillset can help accomplish your career goals, getting you closer to the promotion you’ve always wanted.

Investigate learning opportunities within your company, such as in-house training sessions or relevant courses at the local college. Additionally, there are countless online resources that can help aid you in your journey.

DRINK MORE WATER.

It’s so easy to forget to drink water on a busy work day. However, high water consumption helps improve sleep quality and energy levels, as well as our awareness and alertness. This, in turn, helps us become more productive at work. Studies show that water consumption can help manage chronic illness, reduce the likelihood of dental cavities and decay, and help fight the flu.

One suggestion: host a contest for your team! Everyone can track their water intake and the person who hits their daily goals for a month wins a prize.

GET ON YOUR FEET.

If you can’t get yourself to the gym, why not squeeze in some exercise at work? Don’t rush out and buy a fancy treadmill desk but take some time to move during the workday. Create a recurring event on your calendar to reserve time for a brisk walk during your lunch break or workout on the clock with simple desk exercises. Your colleagues won’t even realize you’re exercising and you will definitely notice the results. Heck, they may even join you!

MAKE SELF-CARE A PRIORITY.

It’s human nature to get caught up doing things for others and forget to do things for yourself. Make 2023 the year to make a change and do something for yourself every single day. Whether it’s getting outside for some fresh air, treating yourself to a fancy coffee, or simply taking five minutes to gather your thoughts and reflect. Find that little something that you will look forward to and will make your workday better.

PRACTICE POSITIVITY AND GRATITUDE.

Do you always feel like the grass is always greener on the other side? If so, it’s time to shift to a more positive mindset. Be grateful for where you are and the job you have. You’re there because you were excited about it at one point so find that former passion and reflect on the positives of your current situation. You’ll be amazed at the difference once you change your attitude just a little.
